Hi, I’m Sarah


As a social worker, counsellor, senior registered yoga teacher and art therapist, I work at the intersection of yoga, social justice and mental health.

I've been teaching yoga since 2003, practicing since childhood, and regularly facilitate on level 1 and 2 yoga teacher trainings as well as yoga therapy trainings.

Over the last decade, I've developed popular courses in Yoga for Anxiety and Depression ( an 8-week course - coming soon online!), 4-week intro to Trauma Sensitive Yoga, and Body Love Yoga 1-day workshop program, which have been shared in-person up and down the east coast of Australia, as well as internationally. I also teach on the team of the Trauma Informed Practice and Mental Health subjects in the Bachelor of Social Work program at the University of Wollongong. 

The yoga courses and facilitation I offer are informed by my extensive ongoing training in a wide variety of yoga approaches. You'll find that the programs I offer incorporate a fusion of trauma-sensitive, body-positive, hatha, vinyasa flow, Vini, yoga therapy, and yin yoga methods, with an emphasis on the power of yoga to inform and transform our lives beyond the yoga mat. I am also an affiliate member of the Yoga and Body Image Coalition and senior facilitator for Off the Mat, Into the World Australia.

I run a private clinic in Bulli NSW and on Skype, working with counselling and yoga teacher mentoring, where I focus on trauma, body image, emotional eating and eating disorder recovery.

The Body Love Yoga workshop is designed to provide you with real, tangible answers to this question.

 


This one-day workshop is for anyone wishing to feel more at home in their body, and move beyond self-limiting beliefs. The workshop includes therapeutic vinyasa flow and yin yoga, journaling, meditation, group processes, and creative practices.  

 

Excellent for regular yoga practitioners, complete beginners, yoga teachers, therapists, and health professionals. Open to all levels of experience.

 

I founded Body Love Yoga in 2012, and have since been running this workshop around Australia.
